About the production
Start
10 a.m.
End
1 p.m.
The Lausitz Labor 2025 will take four festival productions as starting points for discussions: »Sonnet Factory«, »Othello / The Strangers«, »HERE« and »Müller & Müller«. On Sunday, our lab guests will focus their thoughts on the dance theatre performance »HERE« and the play »Müller & Müller«. The festival inspiration word »unsbewusst« will also play a special role.
Come along and reflect with us on the festival experiences in a philosophical and socio-critical way.
10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
»HERE«: A Dance Essay About Space and Time
The dance theatre piece »HERE« challenges our perception of space and time: hypersynchronicity and simultaneity, presence and absence are explored, danced and felt. In this way, the definition of the »we« is re-examined and experienced. Is the »we« only the shared here and now? Is there a sense of »we« that endures beyond physical and temporal presence? Isn't humanity the simultaneity of different lives, spaces and times?
After the visit to »HERE« on Saturday evening, the Lausitz Labor invites you to a new format: the audience, philosophers and the trio of artists from »HERE« come together and discuss the theatrical experience as well as their own reflections and concepts that emerge from the play.
Open Dialogue
The artist trio of »HERE« will be on site.
11.30 a.m. – 1.30 p.m.
Who Can Speak? How Can You Speak?
In regions such as Lusatia, history is deeply rooted in the landscape and in the self-image of its inhabitants. The question of »we« is therefore always also a question about the past and people's memories. What does industrial history tell us today, what does the tradition of open-cast mining in Lusatia tell us about the present and future of the region? How was it reported and what remains of the individual biographies?
The numerous theatre plays written jointly by Heiner and Inge Müller form the so-called genre of the »production play«and are among the most important and impressive narratives and reflections on the GDR, the industrial history of Lusatia and its cultural awakening. Can the historical analysis in Heiner and Inge Müller's production plays enlighten us about future working worlds?
Theatre scholar Maria Kuberg, literary scholar Katrin Trüstedt and philosopher Lea Prix discuss the many ways of telling stories and communities.
