About the production

Start

11:30 a.m.

End

5:30 p.m.

The Lausitz Labor 2025 will take four festival productions as starting points for discussions: »Sonnet Factory«, »Othello / The Strangers«, »HERE« and »Müller & Müller«. On Friday, our lab guests will focus their thoughts on the play » Othello / The Strangers«. The festival inspiration word »unsbewusst« will also play a special role.

Come along and reflect with us on the festival experiences in a philosophical and socio-critical way.

I and We: On the Dialectics of the Social Context

What holds people together? How do the many »I«'s become a collective »we« that is not merely the sum of the individuals and sees itself as an organic, political body? Why should the individual be freer as part of a community than on his/her own? The philosopher and sociologist Heinz Bude invites us to reflect on the limits and possibilities of a community of the many.

Political Affects in Capitalism: Anger, Rage, Resentment

Our society is currently characterised by loss-making events and experiences. This can lead to the spread of political mistrust and emotions such as anger and resentment, which shake the foundations of communities and threaten the project of peaceful coexistence. How do such political affects arise and what can counteract them? What alternatives are there when authoritarian and violent tendencies threaten peaceful coexistence?

Philosopher Isolde Charim and philosopher Jan Völker discuss these important and topical issues together.
