THANK YOU FOR A GREAT FESTIVAL 2026!

Many, many thanks to all our artists, partners, friends and visitors from near and afar who contributed with their presence and energy to the seventh edition of Lausitz Festival which ended on September 13, 2026.
We are brimming with inspiration and joy from the countless great moments the festival has brought to all of us. And we are looking forward to be carried by this vibe into the upcoming weeks and months, preparing the next edition.
Lausitz Festival #8 will start on Wednesday, August 25, 2027. Look out for another round of exciting theater projects, good music, literature, philosophy, art exhibitions and much more. Stay tuned!

The inspirational word of the 2026 festival was geschöpferisch. It is a new word in German (something we Germans normally are not so good at), combining the noun Geschöpf – creature with the adjective schöpferisch – creative. geschöpferisch will stay with us for a while. It reminds us of the human ability to dare new beginnings, again and again, regardless of all failures, setbacks or obstacles. After all,no one ever asked our permission to become a Geschöpf in the first place. geschöpferisch aims both at the individual and at the collective. Hence it can also be seen as a good and inspiring impulse for the many transformations Lusatia is going through.
