Crossing Between Worlds: Tomasz Konieczny Sings Mahler, Nowak, and Baird
Tickets & datesAbout the production
Start
6:30 p.m.
End
8:30 p.m.
This evening of song with outstanding bass baritone Tomasz Konieczny is truly “lost to the world.” Gustav Mahler’s “Kindertotenlieder” and songs by contemporary composer Aleksander Nowak on poems by his Polish compatriot Krzysztof Kamil Baczynski evoke a melancholy yet mesmerizing sense of loss. The program will end on a more hopeful note with songs by Tadeusz Baird based on sonnets by William Shakespeare. The program and the historic location of the concert will build a musical bridge between Germany and Poland.
