In the final concert of this year’s Lausitz Festival, virtuoso violinist Gidon Kremer and his Kremerata Baltica will once again celebrate the music of a composer who only a few years ago was almost completely forgotten. Miłosz Magin was one of the most important Polish pianists of the post-war era and died in exile in France. Keyboard genius Lucas Debargue has long been a fan of Magin’s music, and recently recorded a highly praised album of his works with Kremerata and Kremer for Sony Classical. For the Lausitz Festival, he will play Magin’s rhapsodic Piano Concerto No. 3, a work that – like his Stabat Mater – is full of melancholy longing for the composer’s lost homeland.
