"Hereinforderung", the inspirational word of the Lausitz Festival 2023, serves the Lausitz Labor as a starting point for lectures and discussions. In social interaction, justice or the law sometimes demand revenge or obedience, but sometimes it is life itself that demands something of us, for example the willingness to improvise and rethink, as many Lusatians are currently experiencing. But what is demanded of us does not have to mean submission or coercion per se. Where we are respectfully addressed and included as thinking and feeling beings, where we are challenged instead of being challenged, we can also be positively motivated and committed to the new and become obligated.
On three consecutive days, Lausitz Labor invites internationally renowned specialists from the fields of philosophy, sociology, law, literature, art and cultural studies to a symposium in Lausitz. On the basis of individual aspects of selected works of art from the festival, complex themes will be discussed and the interaction between art and society reflected upon: What kind of impact and criticism can emanate from works of art? How does art formulate and negotiate fundamental norms and ideals of freedom, love and justice? In what ways do love, loyalty and betrayal play into new forms of the political? How do democracy, justice and freedom relate to each other? Can love be bought? Where does happiness end and violence begin? What does art teach us about error, truth and hope? What does it mean to face the challenges of reality as a collective and not (only) as an individual?
On Sunday, the lectures and the panel refer to motifs from the opera "Julie" by Philippe Boesmans based on August Strindberg's "Fräulein Julie". Is there a connection between media addiction and the desire for love and happiness? What role do affects play in the formation of social, political communities?

Professorin für Allgemeine Literaturwissenschaft und Romanische Philologie

Prof. Dr. Barbara Vinken

Prof. Dr. Barbara Vinken ist Professorin für Allgemeine Literaturwissenschaft und Romanische Philologie an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Sie hat zahlreiche Werke zur Literatur der Renaissance und des 19. Jahrhunderts publiziert. Ihr Modebuch »Angezogen. Das Geheimnis der Mode« (2014) war für den Preis der Leipziger Buchmesse nominiert und festigte ihren Ruf als Modetheoretikerin. Dieses kulturelle Engagement setzt sie mit ihrem Buch »Diva. Eine etwas andere Opernverführerin« (2023) fort. Sie schreibt regelmäßig für unter anderem DIE ZEIT sowie die Neue Zürcher Zeitung und ist Mitglied der »Buchzeit« bei 3sat.

Professor für Philosophie

Apl. Prof. Dr. Peter Trawny

Apl. Prof. Dr. Peter Trawny ist Professor für Philosophie an der Bergischen Universität Wuppertal, Heidegger-Herausgeber, Autor vieler verschiedener Schriften, die in über zehn Sprachen übersetzt wurden. Zuletzt erschien im Verlag Vittorio Klostermann mit dem Komponisten Wolfgang Rihm ein Gesprächsbuch unter dem Titel »Frei. Zwei Gespräche« (2023). Zurzeit arbeitet Trawny an einem längeren Buch mit dem Titel »Aschenplätze. Eine Theorie dieses Subjekts«.

Professor für Philosophie und Kulturwissenschaftler

Prof. Dr. Robert Pfaller

Prof. Dr. Robert Pfaller ist Professor für Philosophie an der Kunstuniversität Linz. Von 2009 bis 2014 lehrte er Philosophie an der Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien und hatte mehrere Gastprofessuren inne, unter anderem in Amsterdam, Berlin, Chicago, Strasbourg, Toulouse und Zürich. Er ist Gründungsmitglied der Wiener Forschungsgruppe für Psychoanalyse »stuzzicadenti«. Zuletzt erschienen ist von ihm »Zwei Enthüllungen über die Scham« (2022).

Professorin für Philosophie und Ästhetik

Prof. Dr. Christiane Voss

Prof. Dr. Christiane Voss ist Professorin für Philosophie und Ästhetik an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Ihre Schwerpunkte in Forschung und Lehre sind Medienphilosophie, philosophische Ästhetik und Anthropologie. Derzeit ist sie Sprecherin des DFG-Graduiertenkollegs »Medienanthropologie« an der Bauhaus-Universität. Zuletzt ist von ihr (und Lorenz Engell) erschienen »Die Relevanz der Irrelevanz. Aufsätze zur Medienphilosophie« (2022).

Professor für Praktische Philosophie

Prof. Dr. Christoph Menke

Prof. Dr. Christoph Menke ist Professor für Praktische Philosophie am Institut für Philosophie der Goethe-Universität, Frankfurt/Main. Seine Forschungen in den letzten Jahren beschäftigen sich mit der Frage nach »Normativität und Freiheit« in den Feldern der Philosophie des Rechts, der Politischen Philosophie und der Ästhetik. Zuletzt erschienen: »Theorie der Befreiung« (2022).

Philosoph, Kurator, Autor

Lars Dreiucker

Lars Dreiucker hat Philosophie studiert in Dublin, Berlin und Potsdam. Beim Lausitz Festival ist er Koordinator der diskursphilosophischen Sparte. Er arbeitet als Lehrbeauftragter an der Berlin School of Popular Arts sowie als freier Kurator und Autor. An einer Grundschule in Brandenburg unterrichtet er Gesellschaftswissenschaft. Seine Arbeitsschwerpunkte sind: Phänomenologie, Ästhetik, Liebe, Logik, Theorie der Popkultur

Philosophin und kuratorische Mitarbeiterin

Fulvia Modica

Fulvia Modica hat Philosophie und Geschichte in Palermo, Heidelberg und Berlin studiert. Sie ist kuratorische Mitarbeiterin der Autorin und Philosophin Eva von Redecker. Seit 2022 ist sie Ko-Organisatorin der Gesprächsreihe »Eva and the Apple« am Schauspiel Köln und seit 2023 Koordinatorin der diskursphilosophischen Sparte des Lausitz Festivals.
