Classic, jazz, and free improvisation. With her debut album, “Schumann Kaleidoskop”, the young pianist Johanna Summer revives the tradition of improvisation in classical music. Reflecting on some of Robert Schumann’s best-known early works, she succeeds in creating a sound poem with completely new gestures and colours. This is musical storytelling beyond preconceived categories with a refined sensitivity for melody, drama, dynamics, and atmosphere.
