»Dekalog, Eight«
The eighth part of Krzysztof Kieślowski’s film series deals with the nature of truth and deception based an encounter between two young women in 1943, when one of the two refused to help the other hide from the Nazis. Decades later, the women meet again in Warsaw. One is now an ethics professor and the other a Jewish translator visiting from New York. The film explores the ramifications of the commandment »Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour« in light of life’s complex realities.
