»Sei gegrüßt und lebe!«
Correspondence between Brigitte Reimann and Christa Wolf, 1963–1973
A friendship in letters and diaries
First performed at Lausitz Festival 2023
Since then, several times on stage in Dresden
The staged reading is based on the intensive correspondence between Christa Wolf and Brigitte Reimann: their intense exchange about art and life, everyday life and love lasted ten years. Both held fast to the ideal of a more just society – regardless of dogma and constraints. As the letters and diary entries exchanged between 1963 and 1973 touchingly show, Christa Wolf and Brigitte Reimann, who died in 1973 at the age of only 40, were bound by a deep friendship.
