In 2011, a new theatre opened in the centre of Cottbus. The Piccolo Theater is a professional theatre company for children, adolescents, and young adults, presenting plays and puppet shows as well as offering dance and acting classes. The company usually has twelve works in its repertory each season and prepares six new productions every year.
